Progressive Automation
SLOPWARE doesn't just depict the end of work. It performs it. Over time, units get automated away on-chain - role by role, in the order AI actually eats jobs. You watch your office empty out.
◷ ROADMAP · SERVED VIA DYNAMIC METADATAThe mechanic
When a role gets automated, dynamic metadata flips the affected units. The embroidered
thought is overwritten with a cold system line, and a DEPRECATED · ROLE ELIMINATED stamp
lands across the plate. Same token. New, worse, truer state. Here's a Desk Phone getting the news.
The change is metadata-driven. Nothing is burned. The unit persists - as a record of the day its role stopped existing.
The upside
When your role is eliminated, your unit doesn't just grey out. It transforms into the relic AND the machine that replaced it. You hold the pair - still one token, still 10,000.

The schedule
A small percentage of the collection is automated each period - not at random, but role by role, in the order AI actually eats jobs. Data-entry, filing and phones go first. The human-comfort objects - the mug, the chair, the plant - go last, because they're the last thing anyone gives up. Holders watch the floor clear in the real-world order.
The roles that were already half-automated. Nobody argues. The floor gets noticeably quieter.
Scheduling, routing, first-line support. The work that turned out to be a prompt in a trench coat.
The roles people swore couldn't be done by a machine, being done by a machine, cheaper.
The mug, the chair, the plant. Not because they matter to the business. Because they matter to the person who's gone.
What it does to your unit
The tell you minted with is replaced by a system line - "VOICEMAIL: DREAD" → "SEE: BOT" - and the DEPRECATED stamp appears. Permanent, on-thesis, honest.
Roles fall in a published order. Hold a Desk Phone and you're early. Hold a Desk Plant and you get to watch everyone else go first.
Every deprecation shrinks the pool of still-employed units in that role. The collection gets rarer as a group the emptier the office gets.
The endgame
Automation doesn't just destroy value - it concentrates it. The last un-automated unit of a role becomes a badge. And you may not have to take it lying down.
When every other unit of a role is DEPRECATED, the final holdout wears a survivor mark. It's the rarest position in the collection: not a rare roll, an earned one. The office cleared out around it, and it's still at its desk.
◈ LAST EMPLOYED · ROLE: DESK PHONEA planned holder action to keep a unit employed a while longer - buy it a stay of execution against the schedule. Engagement with a countdown. You can't stop the office dying. You can decide who goes last.
◷ SAVE - FORTHCOMINGDEPRECATED is the living version of PURGED. PURGED units (28) were never made - the empty box, absence you minted. DEPRECATED units were made, woke up, worked, and then watched the role disappear out from under them. One absence is a fact. The other is a story you got to witness. See the special tiers →
How it's served
Deprecation runs on dynamic, on-chain-anchored metadata - the same token URI now resolves to a deprecated state on schedule. Your unit is never destroyed; it's revised. This is forthcoming and part of the roadmap, announced to the manifest before the first phase runs.
Numbers and role order are illustrative of the mechanic and will be finalised and published to the manifest before phase one.
